It is important to find a place to mount your television where you will have no need to move it in the future. By picking the best location for your needs from the start, you may save yourself the hassle of rehanging your television.

Depending on your furniture setup, you want your television to be viewable from any sitting location. Narrow down your choices to just a couple locations based on sitting positions. You also do not want your television to be close to any fireplaces or heating sources that may damage your television over time. Although the TV may look great mounted over your fireplace, that location may not be the best option.
Gathering Supplies and Execution
Because you are looking to mount your TV on the wall, it is imperative to drill into the wall, so you will need a drill and all of the wires to connect your TV to the various video and audio components. A tape measure will also come in handy for any measurements as well as a drywall saw, a razor knife and a string to feed the wires through the holes.

Get a ladder as you do not want to use a chair or any other non-sturdy piece of furniture. You may not only damage that furniture, but you may slip and fall if the correct ladder or stepladder is not used.

Mount the bracket according to the included instructions. Most flat screen TV’s are heavy, so you must have a helper to lift the TV up to the bracket. Do not attempt to lift the TV onto the bracket by yourself, as you may drop the TV.
